1st ever Fuel Injected Corvette Factory Race Car..Nassau,Bahamas Dec 1956

One of Three specially prepared 1957 Fuel Injected race cars entered in the Nassau, Bahamas Governors Trophy Race Dec. 1956...being off loaded from the ship. These were Pre production big brake cars and later became pre production air boxcars.

After Nassau the cars were shipped back to Florida where they went to Smokey Yunick in Daytona and prepared for the Speed Trials on the Beach for the Daytona Speed Weeks.

I am lucky to own the only known survivor.

That means there are two more out there to be found. Plus a private entry that may have been owned by Harley Earl.

Another vintage photo from Dec 1956. This one shows the Bill Mitchell SR2, one of the three 57 Factory race cars and that is Zora in the plaid shirt.
