Oversized drain plug - oil pan

I'm going to try a 'single oversize' drain plug in a thread clean-up attempt for my original oil pan (327). Looking for recommendations from those who have done same regarding the type, part number, source for the best results -- particularly interested in the sealing washer. Maybe there's no big difference, as there are plenty of generic/FLAPS bubble-wrapped plugs available. I believe the base thread form is 1/2-20; correct? Thanks in advance.

    Jeff,

This will not answer your question but search the archives about the helicoil I installed in my original 67 300hp oil pan. It worked great and I use the original plug also very easy to do.
