    Paint on 1964 Coupe

We have a 64 Coupe painted Silver Blue but we believe that the paint is base coat, clear coat paint. Would that paint be considered original according to NCRS standards? How do we stand with that paint?

It doesn't matter what kind of paint is on the car. What does matter if it appares to be like factory applied finish.

Thanks. I have other questions: Is there any specifications for engine hose clamps? Besides the clock being original, does the radio have to be original? Tires: 670/15 are the original size tires for that car? Can the tires be anything but the original compound? What is the original compound? Thanks again. I appreciate your reply. I am newie to the show circuit. I am 67 years old. Any help you can suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Before you ask anymore questions what are you trying to achieve with this car. If your looking to get it top flighted I would suggest you purchese the judging manual.

May I also suggest Jim download the judging score sheets from the buttons above Click "MEMBER SERVICES" and the bottom option on the drop down box is "SCORE SHEETS" Chose year car and pick the section you want. Also buy the "NCRS Judging Reference Manual" from the NCRS STORE above. It is the least expensive book you will buy, but it has all the judging rules.

We saw a bumper sticker that said "I enjoy my Prius but I am not a liberal"

Jim, to add to what the others have said, the Judging Manual will answer a lot of your questions. Since you consider yourself a "newbie", you may also want to look at a copy of Noland Adam's Restoration and Technical Guide, volume 2 (for C2 Corvettes). Paul
