    tone knob not flush

I took them off to clean. When I tried to replace, tone knob would not go flush against the base. It's supposed to , right? I do see the squared-off area in it and it will catch the base to turn it, but no matter how I set it in, it won't go flush. Driving me nuts! What am I missing?

    Thanks!

The tone control bezel has a key way. The tuning bezel doesn't. Switch them.

        So true Mike!

If only plumbing and painting did not require the use of the word "abracadabra"...

Hi Jerry, How are you? Hmmm, 3:47AM......are you an early riser or a night bug?

Good catch on the bezels! I also often pick the wrong way when there's a 50/50 chance of assembly. The C1's are fail-safed as the Tone bezel has that tang on it.

Nice to see you on here occasionally. That NOS Delco radio you sold us for the Norway '67 L71 continues to work great! Odd Vehusheia, the owner(a member here and lurker here on the TDB), and I were on the phone a few weeks ago and the entire car is running great, including the tunes! I was thinking of you a while ago when I fixed the ON/OF switch on a '60 Wonderbar I was tinkering with. I'll have to drop you a line with some pics I took of the process.

The bezel with tang is the one i am using. I see the keyhole but it just doesnt want to fit over easily. I forced it some and it looks acceptable now. Now if i could only get the radio to turn back on... But thats a separate thread
