I need .40 over pistons for my 427 / 435 engine, the factory pistons don't appear to have been made in .40 over. I see "SilvoLite" pistons available in .40 over. any feedback? any other suggestion? thanks, Steve

Re: Any Piston recomendations?
If you want a .040" over forged piston, your best bet is to contact manufacturers like JE Pistons to see if they offer something off the shelf. If not they can machine a forging to your spec, or they may be able to machine down a .060" Speed Pro L2268F-60 OE replacement piston to .040" over. Assuming you're running the OE cam target a true, measured CR of 10.3 max, which should be doable with the OE dome and a slightly thicker than production gasket.
If you go with a custom machined piston use a smaller dome and a thin gasket to keep the quench clearance in the .035-.040" range at 10.3:1.
Of course, you need accurate deck height measurements for you block to properly manage the compression ratio. If you measured deck clearance prior to assembly you're on your way. If not, you will need to have a machine shop with the proper tooling accurately measure deck height at all eight holes.
