1965-66 power antenna

I am in the process of rebuilding my power antenna and have been utilizing a couple of the Restorer articles on the subject. Currently I am trying to unscrew the top of the antenna from the rest of the mast. Does the top being unscrewed from the top mast section, or does the top of the antenna and the top section of the mast unscrew from the rest of the mast?

It unscrews. You might get it by clamping the top mast section between to pieces of wood to hold. Then use a small wrench that fits flats of tip to unscrew tip. Might want to soak threads overnight with some penatrating oil. It might come off easy or not.

When I restored the antenna on my 65 the final on the mast was a press fit on the last section of the mast. The last section of the mast was crimped on to the drive cable.
