Does the date code on my June built 1964 roadster's List 2818 Holley 401 indicate: 1964, October, first week? Or am I reading the 0 incorrectly and it is a D for April? Thanks, Mike

Mike:

There is no "D"......only A for November and B for December. All the rest are numbers only. Therefore 401 is 1964, October, First week of the month. A few months to late for being original to your car.

You can also check a few other date codes on the various carb components to see what they say......whether they agree with the date stamp on the air horn.

I believe that around 1972, Holley went to a four digit (number) Julian date code. Carbs built after this date would have four numbers.

Also, with date code 1st week of October 1964, the carb model will be stamped LIST 2818-1 (ie. dash 1), which began sometime around 462 (per '65 TIM&JG) and 482 (earliest I've seen with the dash-1).
