I was wondering if there is a carpet for a 67 that receives full credit? There is a thread on Corvette forum and a guy at Willcox Corvette claims that the ACC carpets are now 100% correct and should pass judging. You can read my questions to him and his comments here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...nt-carpet.html It would be great if he is right but I want to know for sure before I go through the time and expense. Thanks in advance.

Re: 67 Aftermarket carpets that pass judging?
Hi Steve
Yes, currently ACC is your best bet for the weave. I have examed them and all the samples that are available from a couple of others.
Unlike "Brand X" their '65-7 carpet actually has loops in rows. (Good Thing) and as you know, there are a lot more variables in carpet judging to receive "Full Credit".
I just ordered a set for my '65. I can offer a better report after I see them in person.

Re: 67 Aftermarket carpets that pass judging?
A few years ago I spent an enormous amount of time finding correct Teal Blue for a '67. Three suppliers, Al Knoch, ACC, and Corvette America. Thread here......
The biggest problem was the color/shade. Then the binding, then the heel pad, then the weave. I got samples from all, the ended up with AK but their binding turned out to be slightly different in a few places.
If ACC says they have it right, I'd ask for a material sample including a sample of the binding, sewed on if possible.

Richard, thanks for posting the link. To my eyes the piping on the AK carpets are not like the originals and I have been told that the ACC carpets runs the piping is a different direction than the originals. I will wait and see how the close up pictures looks when the guy at Willcox posts them.- Top

When I went to AK a couple years ago for my '67 carpet, I took my original and they had some originals too. It is also important to get the binding thread color and stitching pattern correct if you want no deducts. Dale knew how to do that.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
