    Front spindle

I am putting my front spindles back together; the inside race and bearing are installed, there is also a seal. How far should the seal go in? Right now it is flush with the rim of the spindle.

    Thanks

Probably. However, I think you are referring to the HUB, not the spindle. The grease seal presses into the back of the HUB. And, yes, when the top of the steel frame of the seal is flush with the back of the hub, it's in far enough.

        As always thank you Joe.
        Yes the hub. :-)
I could find nothing in my AIM or in the service manual as to how far to press the seal in. The races and the bearings were pretty intuitive, but the seal threw me off.
