Usefull Info on 63-67 H/L Motors

I restore a lot of 63-67 Headlight Motors and I have recently seen a rash of folks using the wrong length bolt for the mount bracket/grounding wire. This 10-24 bolt should be 3/8" in length. Any longer and you run the risk of the bolt going into the field of the motor shorting it out. Picture one... Bolt to long and shorting out the field. Picture 2 correct length bolt
Just thought I would pass this along to help save someone an expensive mistake.

Bill, Good info for the masses......

Yes I found out the hard way years ago on a '63. Luckily I caught it in time and just scraped the shellac of the field winding a bit. No permanent damage.

The last ones I got from Zip were correct length. #HDL-280
