    Oil dipstick tube

I received my small block '69 engine back from the rebuild (FINALLY) and am preparing for the install. My question concerns the orientation of the oil dipstick tube. I removed the old one before the rebuild and forgot to take a picture and now I need to install the new one. I want to install as much as I can with the engine on the engine stand before installation. Can anyone post a picture and help me determine how far forward to rotate it so the power brake booster won't interfere with the dipstick. Also, the fit is very tight and needs to be tapped into the opening. Any suggestions on how to do this without damaging the tube? Any help will be appreciated.

Jeff, I Believe the tube should be positioned so its straight up, It is not angled in any way. to install My trick is to use a nylon bushing that fits snuggly around the tube and use one of your old boxed wrenchs and tap into place.

Jeff---- i use a piece of tubing that i cut about 1/3 off the id ( now the 360 degree circle is about 270 degree)and about 2" up and drive the oil tube into the block. Kinda the same way we drive the oil pump pick-up tube into the oil pump. This tubing can be 18" long if need to be. Does your AIM show any oreintation for the oil tube ? What color is the plug on the handle of oil dip stick ?

        Edward and Jeff,
Thanks for your responses. I was studying the situation in the shop today and notice that on the exhaust manifold there are 2 raised bumps that appear to be on either side of where the dipstick tube might go as if they are a locator for the tube. All of this is not currently attached to the block and I just "dry fitted" the parts. Can this tube be fitted to the block once it is back in the car? If I can do this later then I can see if the dipstick will clear the power brake booster.
