Any numbers or way to tell if I got the right dipstick tube for my car. I cant find any numbers on the tube or the dipstick itself. Is it possible to install the tube with the motor and tranny in the car already? It is a small block car with air if it matters. Thanks, Steve

Re: 68 turbo 400 dipstick
Steve,
The tube can be installed with the engine and transmission in the car. It is, however, difficult to access the bolt that attaches to the transmission/engine. With patience it can be done. I have the tube and dipstick out of my '69 and tomorrow morning I will take picture(s) and get dimensions. I will see if the dipstick has any identification numbers. The tube does not. I am making the assumption that the '68 and '69 Turbohyd. are the same.

Re: 68 turbo 400 dipstick
Jeff, Thanks for your reply. I too will measure the length and compare it to a 69 that I also have tomorrow. I didn't know if there is a different tube for vettes vs. other cars. The 68 has the motor and trans in the car and it looks tight to get it in there without some major work but I will get to it this weekend.....hopefully. Thanks again Steve- Top

Re: 68 turbo 400 dipstick
Jeff, thanks for photo. The tube I have measures about 25 1/4 compared to yours. maybe this one is incorrect. I have moved several times and maybe this is from a powerglide or ??? I got another turbo 400 from a 69 vette and I will see if it is different. Thanks for the pic. Did you install the tube from the top down or bottom up? Thanks for your help. Steve- Top
