    70 LT1 engine suffix

What is the difference between a CTU and CTK suffix on a 1970 LT1? Did it change with date of production or assembly?

CTK late release to replace CTU. After 3/24/70.

I think the CTK has the smaller oil pan so they could add power steering

Ralph & Tom have it right. So does the TIM&JG as well as an ancient (about 1993 or 1994) story in The Restorer.

I don't know the cast or assembly date but the VIN is 16051. Does the previous comment mean the oil capacity is five qts. with the filter instead of six?
