    Hi Mike,
Maybe you can help me. I am restoring my 67 with dark saddle leather seats. I purchased a set of leather seat covers from one of the vendors and the color and appearance varied from my originals(I have owned the car since 1969 and changed the covers once back in the late 70's with a set of covers which matched the covers that were on the car when I bought it). The originals had a mottled/blotchy appearance. The covers which I recently purchased have a solid color.
Can you share with me what the color and appearance of the covers you took off and of the new ones look like and post pictures if you can. If your covers are vinyl then they may be different than leather. In my opinion color variations in reproduction parts seem to be more and more common and after awhile I think we tend to accept this as the "New Normal".
    Thank you for your assistance.
    Neal

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I think it might just need the new foam as its sitting pretty low. As you said it has had a lot of "butt" time on that seat! I think I will keep my eye out for a sale from Willcox and see if I can't save a few bucks buying the seat covers, foam, installation kit etc. and spend the savings on one of many other things that always needs to be done. Thanks for the opinions.
Wilcox has been running sales fairly consistently offering 10-15% off and free or reduced shipping. I don't think they've done one yet for October (just checked my deleted email but didn't see one). Wilcox generally posts notices of sales to forum members over on the Corvette Forum http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-and-c2-corvettes-4/, and has special links to forum member specials.

They just had a sale the entire month of September--they'll have another soon, I'm sure.

I have done many cars and had many seat covers installed and anytime i have had a local upolstery shop install corvette seat covers and if i don't like how they fit when they are done, the first thing they say is " the company didn't make the covers right, the foam was too thick, , i can't get them to fit because they weren't sewn right.etc.etc" send the seats to knoch or corvette america, let them install them and then if theres a problem they can't blame anyone ,they should fit and look the best.
I had this exact issue with seats in a 68 Charger I owned. The local shop swore up and down the seat covers were not sewn right. I called Legendary for installation(were I purchased the seat covers) which is the go to company for Mopar interiors, and they installed them perfect. The seats were very comfortable upon receipt.
