1979 AC Compressor Hose

Hi All,

I have found a NOS AC Compressor Hose with the Number : 461262 and i have found on GM Parts Wiki that this fits for 78 Years

In my Aim is noted for 1979 : 14005088

What is Correct can i use this hose for my car or not ????

The 1978 L-48 and 1979 L-48 hose assemblies are different. The GM #461262 was used for 1978 Corvettes with L-48. After several part number changes over the years, a hose for this application is still available today under GM #12529018.

1978 Corvettes with L-82 originally used hose GM #470373. Most, if not all, 1979 Corvettes used hose assembly GM #14005088 which was also supercessive to the GM #470373. After several part number changes over the years, the hose for the 1978 L-82 as well as all 1979-1982 Corvettes is still available today under GM #12529016.

So, will the GM #461262 work for your 1979 Corvette? Based on the above, it's not supposed to according to GM. Whether it could be made to work, I don't know.
