    Need a guide for disassembly

Hi guys, i have a 65 convertible SB stick car with air, PS, PB & windows. I want to do a few things to the car this winter and want a guide to make things easier. Anybody have a suggestion for a shop manual ? JC

    John -

    You need the following:

    1963 Corvette Shop Manual
    1965 Corvette Shop Manual Supplement
    1965 Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual

All are available from the NCRS on-line store ("NCRS Shop" icon at the top of the page); this is the absolute bare minimum for your technical library.

John, There is another book "Corvette Owners Stingray Handbook" by Floyd Clymer . This is an older publication which is out of print but shows up on Fee Bay, Amazon, swap meets, and sometimes by members in the "Services" section of NCRS Driveline Publication. This is a small paper back which is easier to read and follow than the Shop Manuals John suggested (which are a must). This forum is an excellent source of info by very knowledgeable individuals. Google is your friend as many of the small jobs on a Corvette are very much like any other GM product from the '60s such as carb R & R. If you have not done so already join your local NCRS Chapter and network with members owning C2's as many may have already done the work you are going to do.

You are WAY ahead of the curve. Most take apart first and then start asking.

LOL. Well, I guess I'm like most guys who think they can fix anything ( without help ). I had to replace the vaccuum switch behind the glove box when I first got the car due to a "no heat" situation. That job was fairly easy, but in the process I almost decided to pull the radio but quickly noticed it wasn't going to be easy so I stopped and reassymbled. Over the winter I want to have the radio reworked and there are some bulbs out on the instrument cluster thats bugging me. Thanks everyone for your input !!! JC
