    1959 Brake Hose

    Where can I purchase good reproduction brake hose for my 1959? Thanks, Jimmy

    Take your pick of any of the large vendors as the hoses are basically made the same. None of them are crimped like the originals and all have white paint and DOT marking along the entire length of the hose.

      Lacquer thinner can be used to remove the white markings.

        I bought mine from GM many years ago. I don't know if they still stock these items

          no repos i know of have smooth rubber skins like originals and no repos have the fitting on the input side like originals. i eventually got a set off ebay, nors, that were identical to originals but i wouldn't trust them in a panic stop as they were about 40 years old when i installed them for judging purposes. mike/

            They do but not under the original part number and undoubtedly of different configuration. The current number is GM #19174253.

              I don't think you'll find any, except NOS, crimped like the originals. The originals were single crimp. DOT has required a double crimp for years. I don't think that any manufacturer would now produce a single crimp.
