Weather stripping - NOS vs reproduction

Restoring my '60 and would like opinions on trying to find NOS weatherstrip vs. buying reproduction.
Does the NOS pieces work better for gaps on doors, trunk lids, etc.? (worth the added cost?).

Any suggestions on who sells the best reproduction product?

Get the entire NEW set from Corvette Rubber company or one of the vendors who is a dealer like Paragon. The replacement NOS weatherstrips you are likely to find are too stiff and your final result will be less than perfect. Dan

The last of the NOS weatherstripping was really awful, doors didn't shut, trunks, etc. It actually help create the repro w/s used today. Had excellent results with Corvette Rubber Co.

Agree with Dan H. The last NOS was harder than woodpecker lips.

I have some nos side w/s and it's not hard at all. But I prefer the CRC rubber myself. However, the last repro retainers I used were not good. They're too thick and don't have the edge reliefs like the originals. They stick out too far when installed. The original retainers are thin and fit inside the CRC rubber reproductions perfectly. Below are new CRC w/s's and original retainers. Rich
