Re: 1965 327-300hp Manual Trans. Vacuum Advance
The OE VAC has too much advance. There was a TSB on the subject that was posted here not long ago.
You want a NAPA VC1802, or equivalent, which is stamped B22. It's available in many other brands, but they're all made by Standard Motor Products and all are stamped B22. Most brands have online cross references and any parts store should be able to cross a NAPA/Echlin number to any brand they carry. Just make sure what you get is stamped B22, and it's best to test the start and end points with a MityVac before you install it.
The specs in crankshaft degrees are 0 @ 8", 16 @ 15", which is essentally the same at the ...201 use in '62 and '63.
If you had Powerglide the 12" B26 is the best choice, which is equivalent to the OE ...355 that was used on all '66-'67 300 HP engines with either manual or Powerglide.
The above only applies if you have an OE 300 HP cam or equivalent that should pull 17-19" Hg manifold vacuum idling at 500 in neutral. If not, you've got another problem.
