    Silver/Tan '53-'55

My books are packed for a move and I cannot remember which one includes a picture of GM employees with their early Corvettes. One of the cars, a '53-'55, is silver with tan interior. During the late 50's to early 60's I stopped to look at a silver/tan Corvette on a used car lot in Detroit. (Same trip we passed Tommy Ivo in Detroit towing his rail behind his Cadillac!)

Does anyone know which GM employee owned this Corvette or if it exists today?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Must have been a blue car that was painted by owner or dealer. I thought that I had every Corvette book out there and I don't recall that picture.

      GM employee named Roger Crispel

While 1954 Corvettes are far from ordinary, VIN #2771 of 3640 produced in the second year of Corvette production took the path that few Corvettes seldom see and has survived to tell the tale 54 years later. This Corvette would become part of an exclusive club known as “style” Corvettes. Style Corvettes were cars usually […]

That is a great car and was fortunate to see it once. The silver/tan is a different car I believe. It had wire over headlights and the interior was stock beige. I will look through my books when we move and unpack. It is one of the earlier books-1970's or '80's. The picture was taken in the mid 50's. IIRC there was also one with racing stripe in the pic.
