Muncie tailpiece

Is the 3846429 tail piece unique to C-2s? A friend with a '70 L-46 4-speed has one that was said to be for his '70.

OK, the tailpiece your friend has is used on 1964 Corvette, it has the speedo outlet on the drivers side. The '65 up muncie used te 3857583 part number, with the speedo outlet coming off the passenger side. GM divisions used both designs (Pontiac for one) always kept the drivers side speedo arraingement, whicle Chevrolet and others used the second design, which had the advantage of cleaning up the arear around the linkage significantly So the answer is NO not used on a '70 Corvette, Pontiac probably.
