My motor has been running hot I believe. The temp gauge has always read around 180. While I was doing a coolant flush I decided to change the sending unit. The one I bought was identicle to the outside of the unit. The inside stem was quite smaller as you can see from the picture. Is this ok to use? I thought I read one time they should be calibrated. Thanks, Jeff

What caused you to replace the sending unit? None of the aftermarket senders are as accurate as the original, none are "calibrated" (in spite of the advertising hype), all of them read too hot, and require fiddling with add-in resistors, etc. in order to read correctly. I'd put the original sending unit back in and move on.- Top
