Can anyone tell me the correct orientation of the driveshaft for a 57. The shaft has "A [G] 10A" on one end and "B [G] 10A" on the other end (no yoke installed). Both ends have "SPICER USA" on them. Which end goes towards the transmission and which end goes towards the differential ? Thanks, Bill

Makes no difference which end goes where.- Top

Re: 57 Driveshaft Orientation
Thanks John. I found it interesting, after removing both u-joints, that one "end" (welded to the tube) of the driveshaft had a different number casted into it, than the other "end".- Top

Re: 57 Driveshaft Orientation
Those numbers are identifiers for the set of forging dies that was used to forge that part, and have nothing to do with which end of the tube they go on; forging dies take a hell of a beating and require a lot of maintenance.- Top
