I have a 65 or 66 wheel dated B 10 23. How do I read the manufacturing date?

K_H KO wheels are famous for variations in attempted dating marks - it's almost as if the procedures were changed weekly. "B1023" makes no sense for the wheel dates you ascribe to the wheel. What other indicators do you have for those dates? Paint?Comment

The wheel is dark gray in finish so off a 65-66. On the back, the K-H and p/n D-49985 is raised in the casting. Above the date there is a stamp, a square box with a capital D in the center. The groups of numbers comprising the date are widely spread= B 10 23. If this description isn't enough ill post a couple of pics tomorrow. It has a brushed cone but I can see from the glue squeeze out that probably isn't original.Comment
