A battery disconnect switch is an item you place on the battery. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...FSlo7Aod1w0AWQ

Thanks for the pictures. Can you get it at local auto parts store or do you have to order. How important is it in judging. thanks eddie

If you are judging a 95, I encourage you to get the manual so you can become very familiar with the system. The battery disconnect will get you 3 points, but I have Top Flighted in my 95 without it. It all depends how many points you wish to preserve. But, on the other hand, why give up three points if you don't have to. And yes, you can buy it in your LAP store.

Are you thinking that a battery disconnect is a factory installed item? It is not.

If you use a disconnect switch, you will loose any stored codes and your radio station presets.

Bill, there is a very inexpensive little device that you can plug into the cigarette outlet and it will store the codes until you reconnect the battery.

I have used it for a number of years on my 95. I do not know the name and I am away from my Corvette for a period of time.

Yea, good point Pat, used a 9v battery. I've never used one on my DD 92 but I do pull codes before battery disconnect since it takes only 30 seconds. I don't know if they allow those during judging but they should.

I want to thank-you all for the help on what seemed to be a very minor issue. I got the battery disconnect part and won Top Flight by 2 points. I couldn't have done it without you all. Working on getting a better score. Thanks Eddie Robin
