Windshield Washer exercise, how often?

In prepping for chapter judging this weekend, when through the ops on my '67, and since I haven't used the windshield washers (I live in NM where it never rains) in over two years, it took about an hour of sucking, priming and coaxing to get them fired up. How often do you guys exercise them to keep them in shape? Thanks.

Michael, I try to use them when I go for weekend drives with my cars. Most stay in working condition some need more help. When I take a car out, I try to use everything to keep it fresh. Rotate the lights, use the washer/wipers. Turn on the radio and heater/ac. etc.Habit I guess.

I think it must take a little luck with the washers. I have owned my 63 for 16 years and never once used the washer. I am prepping the car for judging and tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and to my surprise after just a few attempts it worked quite well. I did have to free up the little directional balls to get it to aim properly.
