    C2 dashboard restoration

My C2 dashboard is faded. (nice former TF recipient)
I think I know better than to try to remove it to paint etc. (gauge wires)
Is there something I can do to "spruce it up" w/o removal?
    Or
Are there dashboard pros near south Jersey/Delaware to recommend?
So I do not f it up. Thanks, Nick

    Re: C2 dashboard restoration

It really isn't that big of a deal to get the instruments out. There are many threads about the procedure elsewhere on this forum. Do it as a winter project; take your time, read the threads (someone even put together a photo showing where all the connections go...) and enjoy the results and satisfaction of doing it yourself. No special tools are required. Take lots of photos as you take it apart to aid in reassembly. If you are "afraid" of he cluster disassembly itself there are companies that will refurbish the cluster.

Here is a good article on restoring your dash cluster. http://www.lbfun.com/warehouse/tech_...ster%20pt1.pdf

I restored my '64 2 years ago. I sent my gauges out but did the other work. I used paint stripper on the cluster and then repainted mine. My '64 has sliver bezels and masking those off was the most difficult task. You will find that after you do your cluster, you will want your clock and radio redone as well, so it all matches up. I also painted my consile with the same paint. I prefeer to use a litle touch up sprrayer, because the can all seem to spray to heavy for my liking.
