    Dead short?

1991 ZR1 Testing for dead short. Showing a pulsating light on the test light on the neg side of the batt and a clicking at the headlight motors when power is connected. Disconnecting them does not shut out the light. Any clues? I will start removing fuses to see when the test light goes out. However sometimes it comes on then fades out. WWWiper not working, third brakes light and backup lights out. Cassette not working either. Just looking for hints.
    Thanks.

More likely an open ground. I would look for a ground at the wipers, could be the same as the third light.

Clicking headlight motors are common, but are a symptom of the motor drive having the balls chewed up. Not really an electrical problem except when they are bad the motor will not shut off.

Thanks Wayne. I will pull the wiper fuse and see if the light goes out.

the cassette has nothing to do with a short. that works off the radio fuse. also sounds like you need to replace the headlight bushings in the gears
