    66 Parking brake handle removal

I've checked the archives and didn't see anything on this. I would like to remove my 66 parking brake handle from the shaft, the pin is solid and flush with the handle. What does everyone do? Do you drill out the pin retaining the handle, or just drive it through breaking the top of handle and replace handle? Any input would be appreciated.

Use lots of penetrating oil , drive the pin out then hammer the the handle off . you will need to pad the handle if you plan on reusing it .

Brian, drive the pin in gently until it is just bottomed on the far side of the handle ID. You can then gently tap it off the shaft. Protect the handle if you are trying to reuse it.
