3M Paint Defender System - Anyone used it?

A friend is considering using this product on a 50th anniversary C-5 to protect new decals. 3M's website has a lot of FAQ's regarding this product but user experience with a product is generally the best source for a recommendation. Thanks...Clark

The paint under the decals needs to breathe , the decals also need to breathe I would not put anything over them .

I tried it on my daily driver, and it came out as I feared, i.e. not that great. The result is more of a matte textured finish than a gloss finish like the original paint surface, and I doubt that it'll last the one year claimed by 3M. I won't be using it again, but YMMV.
