Re: Distributor
I installed a Mallory electronic ignition in my 1970 Corvette in early 1975. Drove the 70 from Dallas, to San Diego, to Dallas, to Virginia Beach, VA in 1975. No problems with the Mallory system. One day in 1977 car would not start. Pulled distributor removed the Mallory shutter wheel and photo cell. Installed points and condenser and started the 70. Never changed this system for a electronic ignition later in original distributor. In 1993 installed ZZ1 GM crate engine in the 70 that came with a HEI distributor. Still using it. My 1968 has always had its original points type ignition.
