Words stamped on original 59/62 hubcaps

I was told that original 59/62 hubcaps have the lettering BLC-U PAT. PENDING stamped on the side. The side is the 3/4" wide part of the cap that snaps into the wheel. Is this true. Can a cap not have this lettering and still be original. The lettering is very faint and sometimes hard to see.

The hubcap should have the patent pending stamping.

Obviously something doesn't have to work to be patented.
