1972 Rear Strut Camber Adjustment Bolt Head Identification

Looking to purchase correct rear strut camber bolt assemblies for my 1972. I've seen quite a few OEM variations (including various finishes and also various markings on the bolt heads). Any advice on what's correct.

The original bolt was black phosphate-finished. The attached cam was natural steel finish. The separate cam was zinc plated. I expect that various headmarks may have been on the bolts. Some originals that I have seen had no headmark.

        Joe and Ed:

Thanks for the responses. I was going to purchase an NOS assembly, but the finish on every NOS bolt/cam and separate cam example I've seen are entirely dull gray. Looks like I need to keep an eye out for good condition used original assemblies (preferably without the headmark).

          Jim-----

The NOS bolt assemblies with the zinc finish ( they appear to be hot dip galvanized) are GM #458979. These were used in PRODUCTION for late 1977 to 1982 Corvettes and have been SERVICE for 1963-E77 since October, 1977 when the original GM #3820253 was discontinued. The GM #458979 was discontinued without supercession in September, 1999.

Moog offers a replacement part which is nearly the same, if not exactly the same, as the 458979.

Interesting. Your explanation confirms what I'm seeing in the marketplace.

            Thanks again, Joe.
