vin number stamp on 1966 AND 1967 midyear transmissions

So i have been shopping for a 1966 or 1967 big block project it seems that alot of these cars have had blown up transmissions. As a result have a transmission that is date stamped a year or two or three later than the car. The transmissions for the 66 and 67 cars seem virtually idenical so switching them out was the easy way to go for street racers i guess. Now that we want everything to match what is the solution to getting the right number on your transmissions. Are there blank cases to be restruck somewhere out there?

Transmission "numbers" aren't judged - just the configuration that can be seen while lying on the ground.

I have a collection of P dates, they are different from 66 to 67 and while NCRS does not look for this now, its a key item to look for, see some of the things that people have done and claimed a original, but were re stamps.

Worse thing you can do is time travel, that is stamp a VIN on a case that was cast months to a year after the car was built.

I have P dates from the same cavity that show mold pattern marks and degradation over time.
