    68 lap belt pocket

I'm in the process of finishing off the interior of my 68 and in the aim it calls out a left and right insert 3935575-6 that is glued into the seat belt buckle pockets it is shown on UPC1 page E6 item 10, I have the original parking brake console which as far as I can tell doesn't have the inserts. Can anyone shed some light on this?
    Thanks, Bob

Robert I am not familiar with a left and right insert 3935575-6. My original owner 68 Feb built convertible still has the original parking brake console. What is the purpose of inserts?

My 1968 original console has the pockets for the seat belt buckles.

Hi Jim; Not sure what there for I'm guessing that their purpose is to protect the finish of the buckle and possibly to prevent the buckles rattling around on the console pocket. Hopefully someone will have an answer for us

68 seat belt buckles store in the pockets in the e-brake console. One of those one-year-only 68 items.

IMG_6758.jpg Bob I think you were asking about this insert that was deleted in this original AIM. Dale

My 68 AIM (not sure of the date) shows the pockets, the part numbers, and how they were to be cemented into the ebrake console. The old, original console in my car had the pockets. It's an April built car.

I believe the delete date is 11-1-67 for both the insert and the cement. I have never seen an insert in a car.
