Honduras maroon, does have metallic in it! When have your paint shop mix it in BC/CC, make sure they use fine metallic and not the course metallic as the mix will call for.- Top

Re: 1960-61-62 Honduras Maroon
Well that answers a lot of questions I have. What brought this up was a 1964 Studebaker Avanti I ran into at a car show. THe color was very close if not exactly the color of our 1960. In talking with the owner he said it was indeed a 1962 Corvette color that they used (different name) on their cars. I was told that the metallic was not correct but in looking at a paint chart they have (IRID.) at the end of the color for all colors which I believe are metallic. Any ideas of what that stands for.

Thanks Larry, I had a feeling that was the meaning. I remember listening to a fellow that the color was wrong as there were no metallic used on early cars. Not being sure I had to sit there and listen to him go on and on about the car being painted wrong.
