I have my original 396 oil pan from #16120 . It has lots of rust holes and is no longer usable . The judging manual says it should have two ribs pressed in the side of the sump . Mine is smooth and flat on the sides . I does have the correct drain bolt and drain location . I have not seen any of these for sale or reproduced . Does anyone else with an original engine have a smooth one and if so what serial number range ?

Known-original 1965 L-78 oil pans that I have observed have two relatively short, impressed vertical ribs on the left side of the pan (I don't recall if they had any on the right side). Did every 1965 L-78 pan have the ribs? I don't know as I've not seen every one.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
