Although the casting number looks to be a number that could have been around in 1968, if it was it was very late 1968 and after the 1969 model year had begun. So, while I expect that there are some late 1968-dated castings, I would not expect that any were ever installed on 1968 model year cars.

Thanks, Joe. Just curious how far back these water pumps went. Because of the casting characteristics the on the part number and dates the 8s and 9s appear to be alike so some people might see a 9 as an 8 or the other way around.
