Had my car painted in lacquer in 05 with original formula mixed up code ff 976 13057 ppg ddl , later had a pint mixed in rochester mn and it was dead on, I recently needed more paint for a bad area on my fender so I went back to the rochester mn sothern auto supply only to find out they no longer mixed and sold lacquer, so I went to tcpglobal and had then send me a quart of ppg ddl nassau blue in the same formula and this is what I got, made a call to tcpglobal and they told me my car was not nassau blue, now I top flighted with a 98.6 and only lost points on paint because it was over done but they all commented on the paint. could you guys let me know if my car is nassau blue or there paint paddle sample, he told me my car was tahesion turquose or something , the pint can in the photos is the color of my car and the quart is what they sent me. thanks fellas please comment.

Jim, there was a Nassau Blue for the passenger cars that differed from the Nassau Blue used on the Corvette. I suspect you got the wrong mix.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Using a monitor it's virtually impossible to grade color so I can't say which might be correct. However, you would not be the first person to get the incorrect Nassau Blue.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Jim . First place nobody mixes paint by the name of the color . names mean nothing . send them the year and the Corvette paint code and see what they come up with . Second that is a very hard color to match . Last I see you are comparing the color match under fluorescent lighting , thats bad . Always check paint matches under daylight .- Top

Re: Need help on color match nassau blue 1965
Jim - IMO I would not use a paddle sample - on any blue with metallic flakes the wood paddle is not a good base for comparison - also the paint in the can will not look like the paint sprayed on the surface over correct primer. IMO the newer grey and beige primers will result in different tint than original red oxide - just my opinion - the darker paint you show looks like the Nassua offered in 1998 - 2000 on C5 Corvettes - but it is almost impossible to tell correct color looking at small pictures on the computer - even harder with Laguna Blue, Trophy Blue & Lyndale Blue agree with Loren - source another supply- Top
