    Windshield Question

    Hi Guys!

Recently sold my Top Flight '65 Coupe back to its original owner. I bought the car with a new, undated replacement windshield already installed. The original windshield came with the car in a beautifully-crated wood shipping box. I also saved all the original parts which I had to replace during its restoration. The new owner (who bought the car for sentimental reasons) is not a NCRS guy who left it up to me which original parts should be forwarded to him.

The windshield will cost at least $115 to ship to him and I will have to physically move this 120 lb. crate to the carrier for shipment. My first question to you would be; is this an important enough item that I should go to the expense and effort to ship? Second question is: What do I do with the original windshield if I don't ship it? I went on Ebay and there are no "used" dated windshields there for sale. Would anyone even WANT to pay the shipping costs to buy it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Frank O'Donnell

    Ship it.
Even if you bring it to Carlisle to sell it will be a PITA to move around, and you will wish you'd sent it.

Tell him he has to pay the shipping on certain parts if he wants them. If he does'nt want to pay the shipping, sell it, although be sure that your ad says that the buyer is responsible for the shipping costs. You might want to send him the date codes on anything that he does'nt want.

        Re: Windshield Question

I apologize Paul. I did say in the text that I had to,.."go to the expense and effort to ship". The buyer did agree to bill him for the shipping costs, so it won't be my expense. My real question is; "Is an original, correct-date windshield an important enough item that I should choose to send it to him?" Thanks, Frank
