Lookie what parked next to me this morning in the Sportsman area at Hampton....

The Crystal Red driver they drove down from the BG factory was parked next to my "Carly" this morning as we headed the 2100 miles back home. They make a nice pair I think.

BTW, this car really looked Marlboro Maroon in those awful lights in the hall where it was displayed with the cars being judged. I feel for the poor judges trying to judge paint color in that lighting....

Your C6 looks a lot better than that Camaro-Vette.

When the C6 came out the styling took a lot of flak from us guys, me included. I had a C5 Z06 at the time. By 2007, the C6 started looking good enough to buy. I wonder if I'll feel that way about the C7 in a year or two?

I agree with both of you. It hasn't grown on me yet, but the in person look is far superior to the photos of it. It took more HP and a special color to get me into a C6. The photo above does not show the most attractive "Corvette" styling touches of the C7, the rear is the weakest part, IMO. But who knows, if they offer something other than a "base" car (though McClellan lectured me about calling it a "base" Corvette), and some jazzy colors and options, it could catch me in a few years.

I agree with both of you; however, the C7 is about to win me over. It is so fine I am able to get over the tail lights.
I may have to have one???

It's been 9 years and the C-6 still hasn't won me over. The C-7 never will. That thing is UGLY.

You mean they've been making Corvettes AFTER 1967 ???????

Michael, I agree. All of the pix I've seen do not do the C& any justice, when you see it in person it looks great IMHO. I'd like to get one, but I'll wait for the 2015 as I'll let the dealers gouge all of the 2014 buyers and then the prices will be in line for the end of year sales incentives.
To me, this "base" model is pretty hot, 460hp, 30+ mpg, 0-60 in 3.5s, 1/4 mile less than 12 sec. Base? WOW!!!

I wasn't sure until I saw it in person at B/G. Now I think they are fantastic. I still remember a lot of folks saying how ugly the split window was in the 63 How did that work out??

Camaro-cady chop top tail lights, a gm styling queue they can' figure out how not to put on many cars these last 5+ years. Will make for a excellent aftermarket replacement part opportunity for those already tired of the camaro look.

I think the C7 looks great. I've always enjoyed the newer Corvettes for long distance runs like to Carlisle. I really enjoy my C6 Z06 and can't wait to see what the Z variants will be. I even hear rumors of a new L-88.

Just saw a Monte Caro with the exact same tail light chop-top tapered to the center line.

Not GM bashing here just the facts, would have been nice to see the new Corvette with Corvette ques, not copied from all the other GM products.

I know that is hard to do, both Camaro and Mustang brought back modern versions of what made them hot cars in the mid 60's, once you do that style, what's next?

I remember when alll the Ford's look the same and the comments about that, everyone is entitle to their own opinion or likes, unless removed from the Constitution.

I sure wasn't one of them. First time I saw a '63 coupe, I was in love. Still am after half a century. Thank you Bill Mitchell.

Right, Ronald. Was surprised and didn't know what to think about statement in "Yellow Car" thread, essentially a warning from administrator, about criticizing GM, etc. Don't think anybody here hates GM, since we own GM Corvettes, but we certainly have a right to state an opinion on what we like or don't like about new Corvette, etc, as long as we don't insult another member. America, free speech, 1st Amendment, you know.
