I've searched, and I have to think there are threads on this but I couldn't find any. I have what I believe is an original 5 blade fan, (flat rivets, 5 rivets per blade, "FRONT" and "H" on the blade hub). Why do some have "66" and some not? thanks for any input. Steve

Re: 68 Big Block fan?
Steve:
Your fan should be GM part number 3888366, which was manufactured by Hayes-Albion. The "H" signifies Hayes-Albion. It should have a diameter of 17.5 inches and a blade pitch of 2.25 inches.
This fan is Hayes-Albion part number 156632. The "66" is thought to be the middle two digits of the Hayes-Albion part number.
My 3888366 fan also has a "W" stamped on the backside of one arm of the hub. The significance of the "W" appears to be unknown.- Top

I have never seen a 3888366 which did not have a "66" stamped on it. Maybe there are some, but I've never run across one. These fans were only available in SERVICE for a very short time so it's not as if things could have changed during a long manufacturing run.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
