I am doing a frame-off on my 1969 convertible. As I am removing parts, I am refurbishing them as I remove them and setting them aside. I have removed the headlight buckets and am stripping the paint and cleaning them. I have several questions: 1) The outer springs have overspray and the inner have none (which I believe is correct), my question is, were the springs 'natural' or phosphite? 2) It appears that the body color painted surfaces have a 'primer' on the aluminum before the 'red' primer. I would assume that is some type of 'etching primer'? Appreciate any information. Thanks, Steve
