I am looking for recommendations for the best way to protect the front end. I have read about plastic films and other products found at sites like Corvette Central. I just had the 66 repainted and want to protect it when I drive. Thanks for any recommendations.

Re: What is the best Nose cover for long trips
3M blue painters tape has worked for me in the past. 3 or 4 inch wide. Start at the hood line and go down towards the nose. If you want to do bottom side start at bottom and work up. Last runner should go over the nose tip and cover that last layer of tape on the top and bottom. Good luck.John Seeley

Rod, I have heard that static cling clear plastic wrap works , they make a heavier gauge than the store bought stuff, generally sold at the wholesale stores like Costco. and maybe the painters tape in a few spots to help keep it tight. Either the 3M Paint Defender or something similar is being heavily advertised right now on TV. The commercials have been shown during My Classic Car, Counting Cars, and Fast 'N Loud, to name a few. I think it comes in an aerosol, but I don't remember, as I stopped watching commercials after I got a DVR.- Top

I have used bras on two Corvettes and they do mark the paint, especially around the clips. I will never use one again.- Top

I have "clear bra" on the whole nose, rockers, lower door, and front of rear quarter of the '08, but it had BC/CC that is hard as rocks so I can pull the plastic off whenever I want. If your paint is a catalyst cured paint use what you want, but if the paint cures by evaporation you will have to wait a while, maybe a long while, before covering it. See why I asked what kind of pint it is?Terry- Top

Re: What is the best Nose cover for long trips
Rod,
In the past I have used car wrap. The stuff that racers and others use as paint.
The reason it so nice is they can print it almost the same color as your car. You get a heat gun and stick it down. It comes off very easy and does a great job of protecting your paint.
