Re: 67 removal of rear wheel hub
Are you referring to the rear spindles? The 65-82 were disc brakes so the only deal there is the caliper, rotor, and then the spindle& bearings. What are you trying to do? Once I know I may be able to help you.- Top

Ok Dave,
To save me typing the same info over again, take a look at my thread on Digital. It has a lot of pictures to help you. Although I show the arm in a press, I haven't pressed apart spindles since that post. Just get a hammer tool and 4 lb hammer. Hold the arm at a 45* angle after removing the flange and installing the tool and 5 shots should drive out the spindle. You will need a pulled to remove the outer bearing, don't cut it off.
You have other questions let me know.

One of my Trailing Arms were rotted out and one of my spindles were trashed so I replaced both TA's and spindles. The rotors were also at minimum thickness so those were replaced too. Had a buddy at a machine shop surface grind the shims, spacer and yoke and I ended up with about .0015" of endplay and .002" runout on the rotors surface which didn't seem too bad because the endplay.
The new spindles and rotors were so machined much better than the original which were surfaced as a combo on the rotor face. Unfortunately the replacement spindles don't have the same appearance as OEM spindles but they cannot be seen anyway when the hub cap is installed.
I used my rivet gun to install factory type rivets, totally unnecessary, I just felt I needed to justify the purchase of the rivet gun I used for ball joint install. His method of installing cap head bolts is a more practical solution. Many replacement rotors do not have rivet holes pre drilled anyway. Which serve no function other than to kept the spindle/rotor index correct.
It does require an investment of several special tools. For a lot of folks it makes more sense to remove your arms and have Gary do them, I just happen to enjoy doing the work myself.
