The start was the 3 PM check-in at The host hotel -- The Embassy Suites:

This is NOT because of NCRS meet Administration, The Host Hotel just doesn't know how to deal with a large influx of guests.

That was the slowest (1 hour in line) checkin in my life, and last night at the LNO, the dinner service at the Garden Inn was 50 minutes with only water and a menu, so many had to go to Wawa and get sandwiches. This is a huge crowd, never knew the nationals were so crowded. This is my first national, hope they all haven't been so crowded with so little service from the hotels.

Mike, I can assure you this is not usually the situation. Zoe and I went to Stake & Shake last night. I guess that was a good move. In fairness there were over 200 Corvettes in the caravan that arrived at the convention center. I knew when they told us all the rooms would not be available until 3 that they would have this situation on their hands. They had only three check-in stations to make it worse. They had over 200 rooms in the hotel to turn over, so the room availability was a challenge for the housekeeping staff. On the other hand the motorcycle meet that closed last night had some guests leaving at 5:30 AM according to those NCRS people who were here yesterday to set up the hall and meet registration.

Road Tours are broken into smaller groups to avoid precisely this situation. We learned this the hard way. If 25 Corvettes pull into a gas station or restaurant the outcome will not be good. Once the LNO comes though we are all, for better or worse, stuck with each other. BTW: Like your tag. I cut in behind you after one of the un-policed traffic lights coming in, and followed you the rest of the way to the convention center. We have to chat sometime. Like at the manager's reception in a half hour.

Yes, there are some good reasons for the problems, guess we need to be more patient too. So that was you who pulling in behind, now we have almost met, see you at the reception.

I'm at the comfort inn, check inn time 5 mins. The place is 1/2 of a dump.

Welcome reception was great. We saw many of our old friends. The RT was good only one broke down Fuelie and a motor down in a 1960. We had a great parade into the Hampton Road Center. Thank you to Bill Sangrey and all of the volunteers.

Scott, thanks to you and Kaye for a great RT. Lots of wonderful scenery. The proof of your success is the increasing numbers of RT participants and the number of new RT participants. WHen 30% of convention participants show up with the RT you know you are doing something right. Nice job.

+1 on the welcome reception. Someone finally solved the problem of people making finger food a feast. The size of that hall shows the number of convention participants. Stunning so far.

As a first time RT participant, I have to say that was the most fun I have had in a long time, I'm hooked now. And the reception was a grand banquet, need to rename, fantastic!
