I have found a 1967 coupe located in Richmond, KY and would like to find someone in the area to inspect the car. I have reached a price based on pictures and talking to the owner. I am located 15 hours away.

Re: Buying inspection
I would contact Mark Donnally through this board. I would recommend him anyway, but since he lives near there you couldn't get anyone closer or better. https://www.forums.ncrs.org/member.p...ly-%2813264%29Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Re: Buying inspection
I will second the previous post, beware of cars from Richmond, KY specifically ones being sold on Ebay by Whiteviper who is Mike Able.. He also sells under a few other names. If you do purchase be sure you have a title on the table before exchanging any money.- Top

Re: Buying inspection
For some reason, "Who's John Ballard?" reminds me of The Great Race's saloon scene when the actor talking to Jack Lemmon says, "Who's Texas Jack?!"But I digress... John is in the Louisville area, and a 400+ point Master Judge with great knowledge of mid years and early shark cars. I've had him inspect cars for me, and worked with him as an OJ at meets. John himself has warned me about the Richmond KY Corvette cottage industry.
I see you've just joined in May 2013. Welcome to NCRS, and I wish you a successful search for the right car for you.B.D.

Re: Buying inspection
John Ballard is a master level NCRS judge. DuPont paint rep to the factory back in the day. One of the most knowledgable C2 guys I know of and well known back in the tri-state area. Anyone, esp those in Richmond, that are selling a fraud, do not want John inspecting @ the car! Call the seller and tell them John Ballard is going to do the inspection, see what happens.Tim- Top
