Latest 1966 MY power antenna date?

Greg Thompson and I have been having a discussion about possible dates for the antenna in my June 27 built '66 roadster. From what Greg has seen, the antennas appeared to have been made in batches. For example, he's seen many 1-66 and 3-66 date stamped cores, but has never seen a 6-66 dated core. One core was double stamped 3-66 and 5-66 (possibly a re-worked antenna?). He also indicates that the 511 antennas were produced after the '66 MY (some as late as '68).

My question: has anyone out there seen an original, single-stamped May, June, or July '66 (5-66, 6-66, or 7-66) power antenna core?

Andrew, Where does that date appear on the antenna? Is it under the thick waxy coating covering the antenna motor case? Gary

I have an original 66 power antenna that I believe is original to my 66 roadster #23590 built June 8 1966. There are two stamps A3-66 and A5-66 in the body of the antenna . Bill Gould

Gary: Yes. The date is (nearly) impossible to see unless you have removed the coating to repair/restore your antenna. Attached are pics of the date location.

I have a motor, dated A 4-66, part # 5045511 in my '66. It is, however, one that I picked up to replace the non-original one on the car. My car is a March 4 build. Dave
