I transferred the title to one of my sons several years ago. He now owns several other Vettes of his own besides, and may soon open a business under which he can insure them. Don't know if he will get a dealer plate for it then, but what do I care what plate is on the car so long as I can drive it on Sunday mornings and to an occasional car show. Right now it sports an Antique plate which is a pretty blue.

My son is building sweat equity.
If he did not care enough about it to help me build it he would not care enough about it after I am gone.
I am lucky that my 19 year old understands what sweat equity is.
His 20th birthday will be the first time he gets the car on his own for more than running around town to pick up things for me.
He is a lot like I was when I was twenty. I will be a multiple cocktail day for me.
He has no interest in the 63 fuelie. It is that big block 72 that he and his friends want to get their hands on for the night.
It is only a car. There are thousands of them out there. They are our hobby. It would be nice if he enjoys it as much as I do.
The only way that will happen is if he gets to drive it. It has 40K miles on it now. I hope he puts another 40K on it.
Some of these clowns get a little too wrapped up in the cars. We are very lucky people to think these cars really mean anything.
Most people laugh at us. That is what is great about America. We can cherish our cars if we want to. No matter how dumb it really is.
I am not sure if we have a pretty cool life, or need to get one.
If the kids love the cars, let them have them. If not it will not matter anyway.Last edited by Monte M.; July 20, 2013, 04:44 PM.- Top
