I have two glove box locks . The one out of my 65 has a chrome lock housing and a chrome retainer . I have an extra one that is identical except the housing is a raw casting with a chrome retainer . What year is the raw one out of ?

Typically the glove box locks with the as-cast finish are service replacement locks. All the NOS, service replacement glove box locks that I have are as-cast, and not flash chrome plated.

The lock assembly from many passenger cars are identical but have the as cast finish.
